licensed and if so, is it valid and current.
*The state of California requires a contractor to have a current and valid license.- Down payment and deposits
A contractor can only ask for 10% or $1,000 which ever is less. Beware of a
contractor who asks for a large down payment before the start of the project.- Get everything in writing
Dont trust a hand shake or scribble on a business card or verbal agreements.- Ask for referrals.
If you have time ask them too see any of the work they have done.
